Weekly Children's Ceremonies

Children’s ceremonies are held each week and teachings are based on ancient Indigenous wisdom and life principles. Focus is placed on social/ emot ional learning, character development and connection with the natural world. Each session includes time on the land, where children can play, explore, discover and build their connection with Mother Earth and all of creation.

Time in Indigenous ceremony is central to these gatherings. Parents and their children come together to pray for the children. Children are given teachings on the Spirit World and begin to earn their medicine bundles. Children share their dreams and visions. They lean how to connect and understand the world of Spirit and how to incorporate Spirit into their lives.

Parental support is essential. Parents are asked to stay and participate in ceremony with their children and to reinforce the teachings at home. Many fami l ies bui ld on these ceremonies at home throughout the week and use the 7 Sacred Teachings to strengthen their family’s values and way of interacting with each other. People of all faiths and traditions are welcomed and honoured.
